In an effort to better serve the Aitkin community, LAPS spoke at the health and human services staff meeting at Aitkin County on August. 14. Thank you for having us Aitkin County Human Services!
Hi I am Evelyn—this is my son Tyson. I was scared to tell my mom when I first found out I was pregnant. Taylor, my fiancé, and I had been dating for 2 years and we were not planning on getting pregnant. My sister-in-law had gone to LAPS for her pregnancy help and encouraged us to do the same. When we got there, we felt very welcomed. The weekly meetings were just what we needed. It wasn’t like we were talking to strangers—it felt like we were talking to someone we had known forever. We are thankful for LAPS being here in Staples. Tyson James is 9 months old and we love and are thankful for him.
Thank you for giving to LAPS and helping us.
The day had finally come when I saw two pink lines. I was a mix of emotions of mostly excitement and a little bit nervous. My husband and I were married in October of 2016. We both knew we wanted more children. I have a step daughter by marriage. We found out we were expecting on my birthday. This was my first pregnancy and as ready as I was for this baby I still wanted to know more.
